I've always told myself that there was no way in the world you could stuff up a smoothie bowl. Well I was wrong. I've always made smoothie bowls for around 2-4 people never more and I usually just guesstimate my measurements. So basically just chuck in whatever tickles my fancy and hit blitz.
Well if you're planning on making more than 2 servings of this particular smoothie bowl MEASURE don't guess or else you could end up with a banana smoothie bowl with a hint of chocolate and orange - hahaha.
Anyway... Back on topic. Kind of. I was never a fan of orange flavoured chocolate because just the name of it sounded gross, but then when we were in Samoa I had this chocolate chip flavoured jaffa ice-cream and
Oh. My. Gosh. Total fangirl!!
Fast forward a couple of years and I was given the challenge to make some desserts using Doterra Oils and one of the flavours I was given was orange. I originally thought I'd make an orange flavoured raw non-cheese cheesecake but because it was a demonstration I realised that's not super simple to create in front of people and I didn't want to embarrass myself and stuff it up, so I decided smoothie bowls for sure because... you can't stuff those up right? Again wrong.
I totally felt the whole MKR pressure thing when making bowls for 8. My face was on fire, my words slurred out of my mouth, zero eye contact was made and I was sweating bullets.
Just to be clear, I wasn't on MKR thank goodness and it's totally not a dream of mine, although the pop-up kitchens are super cool, unless your pregnant self ends up being shown nationally with a sloppy mouthful of food - yeah, that happened to me and it wasn't as cool as I thought it would be...
Moral of the story is... Well I don't know what the moral of the story is. It was kind of a pointless story, so here's what you'll need to make these delicious bowls...
2 cups of frozen banana
1 cup of almond milk
1 medjool date
3 tablespoons cacao
3 drops of Doterra Wild Orange
How to Make
Put in blender and blitz until smooth
For something extra delicious top it off with my paleo granola.
Or chuck it in the freezer and make some jaffa flavoured ice-cream...
